When did people stop feeling?

When did people, decide that they are better off, living as drones? Look around you, check out the robotic nature of the modern day world, as people stagger about like machines, exercising the same routine everyday, doing things that cause their hearts to whither away, bit by bit, until they eventually become an empty vase of nothingness.

I miss the simplicity of waking up, to the rays of sunlight warmly engulfing my room, as i lay their in stillness, wondering what the day would bring me. As opposed to opening my eyes to the artificial light of my phone invading my heart, with emails piling up on the lock screen begging for a reply.

What happened to music? It used to have so much soul, so much feel. Why has it become a chaotic orchestra of electronic devices bustling into an orgy of mind numbing noise? I just spent an hour listening to some of the world’s all time best hits. It baffles me that gangnam style would get more hits than the classics such as Imagine by John Lennon, What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong, Believe by Elton John, and The Sounds of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel just to name a few, the list can go on and on… As i type this i am listening to the Godfather soundtrack (please, feel free to try any of the mentioned by clicking their names, i linked to them).

I pray that humanity finds its way back into people’s hearts and veins, and we start to once again feel and care for one another. I pray for everybody to rediscover that which lies at the core of what we are supposed to be as human beings: Emotion.

I pray, deeply and with every invisible intangible shred of my soul, that it is not too late for us yet. That humanity, will once again remember what living should be all about, and take an aimless walk in the sun.

To feel, is to exist. To love, is to live.
