Emotions, are these intangible strings, connecting people together, shaping relationships, shaping lives, shaping the future. But it goes beyond that. Emotions run so deep, at such a subconscious level that they interconnect societies, they create the face of humanity.
There is no controlling your emotions. They exist, they are there, best thing you can do is understand them, and learn to live with them. And its such a beautiful life, when you embrace your feelings, when you become one with your emotions, you become complete, whole.
Throughout the times, history is cluttered with stories of pain, sorrow, victory, and defeat. Examine any one of those stories, and you will see how emotion plays a major role in the unfolding of events. There is no denying it, our emotions drive us, even if we so choose to deny it, and claim to be “strong”.
But what is strength, really? Is it the ability to ignore, and completely shut-off what is undisputedly there within us? Is it the power to totally disregard an innate element that contributes to the very fiber of our existence?
Emotions, and feelings are there for a reason. We need them, as a human race. They help us understand good, from bad. Truth, from lie. And real, from fake. How many times where you faced with a situation, where you had this very strong gut feeling, urging you to go one route vs the other? And how many times did you truly listen? Psychologists argue that it is your subconscious mind making a calculated decision based on subliminal known facts. And what if it is? What if your subconsciousness and your feelings are deeply intertwined, what’s wrong with that?
Logic, beautiful as it may be, is not flawless. And though it may be more tangible, and much more apparent than emotion, it is not always right. Because a human being, has a heart, that runs purely on emotion. And that, is something that people tend to forget.
I wonder, at what point in our lives, or in the line of history did people decide that “from this point forward, all our decisions will be rationale”. The human body needs not only food to survive. It needs water, nutrients, sunlight, and a number of things. Take any one element away, and the body will start to whither away.
The human soul needs more than logic, to survive. It needs love, pain, victory, defeat, amongst many others. Let us not live only through logic, let us once in a while learn to unleash our hearts and let them roam free. Let us remember our childhood, with eyes gleaming with joy, let us reconnect with our souls…
